What's the best area in Florida for a cottage/house with access to fresh water fishing?

I'd like something with a boat house/dock, river or lake, on a decent sized lot.

Some place where they have internet access. Max budget $350k.

Lake County. Eustis, Tavares and Leesburg have that. Special nod to Eustis.

Glades county is south Florida IMO. Draw a east west line across the state from the north end of lake O... Anything south of lake O is south Florida .

What type of fishing do you prefer? Specks or Bass? or both? Don't forget the St John River and others.

If you can go for a small cottage that's kind of remote, take a look at Blue Cypress Lake in Indian River County. Gorgeous lake with excellent fishing. It's also only about 20 miles from the Indian River Lagoon and the Ocean should you decide to expand fishing opportunities.

Well if Bass are the primary target then the Kissimmee or St. John would be better. Why? deeper water (cooler) and slow moving. Most lakes in Florida are shallow, but the rivers have deeper holes and channels. For specks... Istokpoga or other lakes are better producers.

You can catch 100 bass a day if you want, but size matters. Caught my biggest bass from a one acre pond. She now lives in my pond.

Highlands County is someplace you'll want to check out.
