The Sarasota Airport reported 4" of rainfall in the past 2 days, and there is standing water along many roadways from North Port up to Bradenton.

Spring has sprung. The next round is due to hit tomorrow (Sunday 4-26), then again Thursday 4-30.

I hope other places are seeing what we are seeing...the beginning of rainy season coming a bit early.

Don't make up for no rain at all in March and the way below normal rainfall for the last 5 months. And everywhere makes no cents as many places have not seen any rain for months around the planet. Everywhere means everywhere.

I'm worried about mosquito's now! We still have a lot of standing water in low lying areas. More rain to come tomorrow, and again Thursday. SW FLA will be swimming in the streets before too long. The ponds have filled up quite a bit so look a lot nicer too.

Everywhere in SW Florida got a massive soaking the past 2 days. Better luck to those who are still dry when the next front comes through.

But south FL is in bad shape. I had no rain at all in March and got 1.40" Friday. Once May gets here fronts are just about done. May starts to get some T - storms in south FL around mid month and later. You were in a lucky strip of heavy rain vs other places.

I'd say in our neck of the woods we generally get an abundance of rain from mid-May through mid-November. Got about 3 inches last night.

I'm in western Ky. and would have been happy to send you some of what we got. There were a few times I was looking at my back yard and trying to decide whether to plant rice or stock it with catfish.

I thought some of those storms/rain were headed your way.

We got some more rain here early this AM. And it's still cloudy. Our plants and grass are reveling in the moisture.

The Weather Channel Reports and Radar keep moving forward and NO rain yet today again...We are supossed to be under Heavy Squals (Finally) for 4 or 5 hrs, but originally was to start at noon...It really looks like another False Alarm Day for Us.
