Hi, anyone happen to know what the dating scene in Ft Walton Beach is like? Also, does it have the same culture comparable to bordering Alabama or does the military presence give it more diversity?

The FL Panhandle in general is "southern" but there are many exceptions. For example, a lot of people from the North move there, and the military presence does bring another layer of nationwide diversity.

Dating comfort depends on age group. The local college students and recent college graduates have no problem dating. The culture of the area is somewhat rural and southern. So, they tend to marry very young. They also have high divorce rates.

This means that for older people in their late 20s and up dating can be brutal. Most of the "available" people in the same age range will likely be divorced. It would be relatively more difficult for a male or female in the early 30s to meet someone else also in that same age range who is not divorced or does not already have children.

So, for the late 20s and beyond dating in the FL Panhandle can be very challenging. For that age group, some place like Jacksonville or the I-4 corridor or Houston would be better.
