Which is actually false because its mostly the conservative ones who leave those states at higher speeds.

I'm sorry, but this is just conjecture. I don't think there has been any studies done as to the political leanings of people leaving CT. People leave for many reasons, taxes are one of them. I left for that reason. I love CT, it's were my friends are and it is beautiful. Unfortunately, my home property taxes went from $2,500 in 1995 to $8,500 in 2019, and in retirement, my wife and I can't afford that.

$8500 per year for property taxes should be criminal. There's no way they need that much money from everyone. Where does it all go?

Didn't even own a house in CT and still had to leave because of taxes. Car tax, alch. tax, boat storage tax, etc etc etc.. so nice to not have to pay my town in fl 680 bucks a year to own a 2017 ford explorer and use it (as I had to do in CT).

Get ready to have a stroke:

https://www.palmbeachdailynews.com/n...xes-new-record

Last year 59 people in the town of Palm Beach paid OVER 500K each in property taxes.

Live in the mansion 10 years, yep you blew over 5mm just in property taxes. ONE owner (hedge funder Ken Griffin) paid over 5.37mm in taxes on mostly vacant land, he hasn't actually built the mansion yet.
