So is the virus infection, hospitalization and/or death declining so that you can declare victory? That would be great.

Florida's handling of the COVID-19 epidemic likely will dissuade persons from moving to the current COVID state.

A state run by a governor who refuses to impose a state-wide mandate, orders schools reopened amid the nation's highest transmission rates, and who hasn't provided for effective testing, contract tracing and quarantine policies six months into this epidemic, won't appeal to many perceptive individuals.

See post 883 in this thread.

A logical conclusion would be that a state that has exhibited such poor leadership six months into the COVID-19 epidemic likely has other festering policy failures on the table.

At least it looks like DeSantis is breaking ranks with T on the whole idea of postponing the election.

DeSantis knows that mail-in and absentee ballots in Florida skew toward old people and military who vote Republican and can easily be the difference in a tight general election.

Tampa Bay and NBC articles report it was due to USER ERROR. They were late or had defects. One article suggests there be a massive education campaign to notify the public to send their ballots ON TIME or drop them off.

Miami Herald went to a generic page and the NYT is behind a paywall.

The article below attests to the safety of mail in voting and the fact that Trump is a frequent user of the service himself.

trying to smooze it over with excuses...doesn't change the fact that thousands of mail in ballots are not counted on every election they've tried

Yes, just like you have to get to the polls before they close, you have to mail in your ballot before the deadline. And you have to read the directions and complete the ballot accurately. The smooze is you have to follow directions - I know it is just crazy that this a requirement.

Seeing license plates from the North East Corridor down here, even during Hurricane Season is great. Please people from New York and New Jersey, keep fleeing down here in terror, so that you spend your money in our economy.

Don't forget to put your little cloth masks on. Its scary out there, the covid might get you.
