Hey, you're right. They didn't use standard tactics. They went above and beyond to secure the scene and protect life.

Sit down, son.

Hacked in?, probably not but used someone's password/log in is more like it. She wanted a lot of attention and she got it, seemed like a lot of drama on her part, camera pointing directly at the doorway.

My guess, she will take a plea bargain after spending her kids college fund on lawyers.

If the cops were serving a warrant at my house right now, I wouldn't have any camera footage, if I had kids upstairs I'd be sure they were with a parent so cops with guns wouldn't be the first thing they saw. I'd open the door and ask to speak to a lawyer........done, no drama, no hysterical ranting.

got to go, someone is knocking on my door loudly.....

Exactly. The girl has a history of felony charges including stalking. She's a walking, talking problem creator. And it's a shame people can't see what is so obvious, simply because of petty politics. Is it really hard to believe she was a terrible employee, given her history and antics? And now she committed yet another felony and is facing the consequences of her actions.

This woman is a bit... shall we say, consumed with faux outrage.

Y'all remember why she was fired... not the reason (insubordination) but the cause? She was entering data before scientific/medical review. She was told to stop until the review was completed... she refused because SHE determined/decided what was valid.

There's a difference between dying with Covid-19 or dying from Covid-19.

You forgot to mention that the FBI even brought CNN along to videotape the whole thing. A full blown fascist propaganda operation.

Isn't it stunning that these people can't see the obvious?

HAHAHA! Literally no difference. You think it's all some type of operating-system typity typity code cleverness? Nope. Lots and lots of "hacking in" is using the front door with someone's password. I agree the term is tossed about by the media a bit irresponsibly - but, using the commonly understood definition - that is, indeed, hacking in.

Meantime - topic at hand - she was (originally) adding info to the sight that was not verifiable - anecdotal, if you will - and they told her to stop. She refused. She was fired. Much more to it, actually, but simple enough - it wasn't a cover up, it was the other way - she was making up info and posting it on the dashboard. Can't have that.

That's water under the bridge though. Doing it while your boss tells you not to is one thing. Doing it from home - absolutely breaking the law - is another thing altogether. Then not answer the door when the police knock - with a warrant - well, what did you expect?

I only put it that way because most people think of hackers as a shady guy in the middle of the night in some 3rd world country logging into your email account because you used fluffy123 as your password and suddenly your bank account is empty, your credit cards are maxxed out and the FBI is asking about your interest in 11 year old girls.

If she simply got fired and never logged into the network again then she would not have gotten arrested but she does love the attention from the state government and the media.

This tin foil masterpiece will look great on you in the Spring:
A little education goes a long way:

The dashboard she created used a specific software program.

That means she is an expert in that specific software program.

It does NOT mean she has any expertise at all in computers. Only in that one software program.

Sort of like if you say you know how to post here on City-Data, and you know how to post links to websites, and add emojis, and bold text, and underline words, and can make polls, and do all the other things the software this forum uses and provides to its users...

it doesn't make you a computer expert.

You're an expert with this software.

That has been your lesson for the day. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

She's a Data Scientist. Data Science is a subfield of Computer Science. Yes, she is a Computer Scientist, and therefore, I'd very much call her a computer expert.
One does not become a Data Scientist by being an expert in only one (or one type) of software. You have to be some sort of computer and math wiz to earn that title. Guaranteed she has quite a few coding classes under her belt, among other IT and Computer Science courses.
