This looks to be a Charley-level event. Do your extreme shopping now, fill the gas. Whatever you need.

Hardly a Charley...... as an armchair forecaster wannabee, I'd keep my day job if I were you.

Another dud buds. I won't get jack from it like always. I get screwed everytime and never get any rain jane..

This is not a true tropical system and has cold core in it. Main action will be on the east coast as they always get the action and more rain. THIS POSTER ALWAYS GOES OVERBOARD OVER NOTHING.

Well, they're forecasting the storm to make landfall somewhere around Palm Beach county, go west-northwest or so across the state, and over Tampa Bay before it emerges some into the Gulf and then hooks back northeast, towards Jacksonville and up the Atlantic coast. Wouldn't your neck of the woods get some of the wind and rain Nicole is passing out as it nears the Tampa area? Looks like with any luck the storm will stay north of us here in Charlotte county but we're expecting winds and rain from it.

It will keep tracking more northeast. Won't even get close to me and go well northeast. So no rain jane like always and another miss and i get screwed again man. These storms know i want one and keep missing me. Take it to the bank hank. I know this stuff better than anyone. 59 years of misses will teach ya lots.

As of this morning, you are right, its turned further North and slowed. The more it slows, the more to the North it has time to turn. Not to say that it couldnt do a last minute turn like Ian, but not probable.

This will be a non-event for nearly the whole state...some rain, some wind, but no devastation like the news media likes to see, & some Northerners who hate Florida's success.

Well, all I can say to that is, from your mouth to G-d's ears. We have had enough events this year.

Though not likely damaging from wind speeds the potential 6"- 8" of rainfall over a short period of time coupled with storm surge is going to create more flooding in areas already affected by Hurricane Ian, so hardly a "non-event".
