I've been looking around at the various (many) planned communities in Florida and wonder if there is a website that helps to search for them and sort by different criteria?

I used the Sunday paper's real estate sections new home developments map, then went to each builders web site.

The Real Estate web sites can help a bit too, because new homes are shown on their maps too.

Of course, a Realtor can navigate the MLS better than most layman, and their experience will help you too. They know about CDD's, HOA's, builder issues, ect..

I think you will be more successful if you narrow down your search. Real estate is local and most agents are only going to focus on the areas they do business in. For example, there is a website a local Realtor has put together that covers the costs and amenities of all the Lakewood Ranch communities. I'm sure a "David" similar Realtor exists for The Villages and other master planned communities as well, it's just that you're probably going to have to search them out online. I don't think someone has taken the time to map out the communities of FL as a whole because it doesn't benefit them so they aren't likely to put forth the time/effort to create and then have to constantly be updating such a site.
