Does anybody have experience buying foreclosed or pre-foreclosed properties? Are any of the websites, all of which seem to charge a membership fee, worth signing up for? I have had investment properties in the past, but have never ventured into foreclosure land. Any thoughts are appreciated.

When I moved from FL last year I bought a foreclosed home. My Realtor showed it to me. There are Realtors who specialize in this type of property.

I made a cash offer that was accepted the day I made it, but it still took 45 days to close. Dealing the bank can be a little frustrating.

I suspect the homes that will be foreclosing will be different then the classic foreclosure bargains. They will be nice homes that the owners are just walking away from and not bargain fixer uppers that represent foreclosures in the past. I don't think, except in rare cases, they will be worth looking at for investment or bargains in any sense of the word. I would not be getting too excited

The fact is you don't have to spend money searching for foreclosed homes or joining websites where they charge you a fee. You can do it all on your own, though it's a complicated process and you MUST know what you're doing or else you might end up buying a foreclosed "second" mortgage!

Simply go to the FLorida County website of your choice! Everything you need to know, from Lis pendens to judgment amounts, to sale dates are there.
