The OP's title says Teachers (plural), but the link highlights a single teacher.

This is an isolated incident, & the new teacher was under a 1 year probationary period, so no laws were broken.

Based upon the article alone, the firing doesn't seem right, but I also know how manipulative the media is with the facts, and in omitting facts from stories to push a political narrative.

My gut tells me there is more to this story than this article reveals, so I'll withhold judgement until more information comes out.

The school district probably needs to refrain from further comment, to avoid legal eposure, so their hands are likely tied in saying more.

Usually, in stories like this, when more fact are revealed later on, the purported wrongdoing party gets exxonerated. Problem is, by that time, nobody even remembers the orginal article/story, & like corrections in the newspaper, they go by unnoticed.

I'll give this some time, to see if more info comes out. I'm not passing any guilty verdicts right now because I've been misled too many times before by the fake news media...they've destroyed their own credibility, which most polls show.

Why is it that the public school teaching profession has become a magnet for freaks and the sexually confused/disturbed of all stripes?

I blame the parents who are still naive enough to throw their children into those freak shows every day when they ought to know better and have other options.

I went to public school 20+ years ago and it was a freakish nightmare then. I can't even imagine how much worse it is now. I would have to be at the end of my rope to inflict that kind of punishment on my children.

Trust me, there is a lot more to this story than we know now. She might have been fired for a totally unrelated cause, but used this as an excuse or diversion from the actual infraction/s.

Of course, the media would take her word and run with it, knowing the school districts lawyers are telling them to not comment futher.

Again, most of the time, there is more to these kind of stories than gets revealed from the start.

If there are no public schools how would the majority of folks get an education?

I didn't seem to suffer the irreparable trauma and damage you did. Nor did any of my friends who attended.

How do you suggest student's get their schooling if both Mom and Dad work? Private schools? As if most families have the money for that. Apparently your parents didn't.. otherwise they would have pulled you out of the "freakish nightmare" you went through.... u poor thing

Why was this person discussing her sexuality with middle school students in the first place?
There is no "Gender sexuality course objective" anywhere in the Florida State Standards for Art.

Her sexuality (regardless) is her private business and should not be brought into the classroom. Period.

Her "probationary" time is over, go find another job. Period.

She is not a victim. Period
