I don't think many visitors are coming now that it is so hot & humid. Our new FLA residents are getting to experience their 1st Summer here. I doubt they'll be here next Summer.
I think we are looking at a hotter than normal summer here, too. It's bad enough here in Lakeland, but last week we were in Sarasota and I felt like I was gonna die....killer heat and humidity!

It will be interesting to see what the 2nd quarter tourism metrics looks like w/ the inflation factored in.

Not sure.

I would suspect it to be more than 2021 just due to less overseas restrictions and Europeans being able to come here now. However just in my unprofessional eyes last summer seems a lot more busier around here with more tourist even if the numbers say otherwise at least in my region. Even the beach this summer didn't seem as busy if you've seen my other posts and the restaurants were busier last summer around here.

But a word of caution. If they say hotel rental sales figures are up and revenue are up that's a load of BS. Because INFLATION. So yes sales figures will be up but inflation is causing a massive rise in the cost of goods.

So that equals more tax revenue because of the cost of goods is sky high!!

That's the same BS logic Biden was just spewing and twisting. He said the America worker has had a large raise! Yet with Bidenflation it has offset that wage.

Don't pay attention to using sales tax revenue as a gauge for the economy. Higher inflation, higher good prices equals more sales tax revenue.

See my post I just made. They use sales tax revenue collect. That's an easier number to spin when cost of goods goes up 20 percent for something.
