I believe the Health Care Grade for hospitals in Ocala is C- and D at least it was a few months ago.

Your right all this new construction for homes in these type regions of Florida for seniors as well as all ages, but far to limited for Medical Care.
Not much better here in SWFL. The hospitals have troubles finding young MDs because of the housing cost and such.

Here in the Charlotte County area the health system sucks.

Oh and totally agree about Blue Cross. Here in Southwest FL I have the exact same problem and I have a PPO, not crap HMO. I switched back to Millenium. My primary 2 years ago no longer takes FL Blue. I have a couple health issues right now and woudl have to pay $100 bucks a visit out of my pocket. I wouldn't mind that but he can't refer me for MRIs or test since he doesn't take my plan.

Here in Charlotte County the hospitals are terrible too. If I'm conscious I refuse to be taken to HCAs or Shorepoint. I go to SMH Venice now. Much better care.

I can rant for days on here about doctors not taking Blue Cross and the healthcare down here. Many of the locals in my area also say the same thing.

I'm from Missouri and up in St. Louis the doctors and hospitals are top notch. Down here you'd have to go to Miami to get the same level care.

I had Blue Cross in St. Louis and never had a problem with a doctor not accepting it. When I moved down here back to Florida and got similar insurance plan I ran into all sorts of problems.

Same problem in California. Since the pandemic, restaurants can't find enough workers. Some of the fast food places are offering $20/hour but the positions remain unfilled.

I think the most significant point made in the article is the $24,000,000,000 of weath that was brought into Florida in just the 1st year of the pandemic. I see that as future investing, spending....commerce, & yes tax revenues too.

Also, how those moving into Florida are no longer penny pinching middle class retirees, but now many wealthy retirees are moving here too.

Florida is good for retirees. They are not dependent on our slave wages.

Here in southwest fl a lot of retired people work them jobs

However most are just part timers and use the money as extra spending cash, not as their main dependance to survive so for then make 12 an hour is just fine.
