Check the area you want to live in, I tell folks to go there in the evening BEFORE you buy to see and "hear" what the neighborhood is like. That is what we did and we feel we chose a great section in Palm Coast!

Yes, Palm Coast has rules and I'm glad of it. Did you call the INS on those illegals?

To reiterate, I don't & would never live in PC. And it's not MY responsiblilty to report illegal immigrants in your neighborhood. There are none in mine.

Sheets or towels for curtains as acceptable window decor....yes! So much for Palm Coast City code.

Check out the streets you don't usually drive on. You'l find slum city, even in the "E"" section.

LOL Matiros!

I've never seen sheets on windows here other than for the first couple of weeks people move into a new house, in all likelihood waiting for window treatments to arrive.

I agree Pirate Girl - never seen those. Good one Matrios. All I can say is that I like my area a lot...never a problem here. We have a gorgeous neighborhood where we live. We are right in town by the library.

No, I don't live in "Mondex," which is referred to by realtors as "Daytona North." And why would you assume that? I don't know what you mean by "sounds really nice?"

I'm not trying to start an argument here, just letting people know that Palm Coast is not the Utopia some make it seem. I glad you are all happy with your home purchases and many are.

I worked in the construction industry during the "boom" and saw what went on. Part of my job entailed driving each & every section of Palm Coast throughout the week.

What happened to so many people: being lured into homes with ARMs they could not afford and could not maintain the up-keep, left the homes in disrepair & ultimately forclosure.

Do we, as Flagler County residents, want more of this? You want to see your property values drop because your next door-neighbor is so desparate, he'll rent or sell to anybody?

You guys need to take your blinders off. Take a cruise through the neighborhhoods with duplexes. Make the city enforce their codes. I'll give you specific streets if you want.

Yes, there are some homes and duplex areas in PC that are not being kept up, I'm sure that is true in "all" cities right now. Luckily, it is not the majority here. That is the important part. The unkempt homes are in the minority. Yes, we should call code enforcement to take care of any problems.

I drive through many areas of PC also and the majority most definitely take care of their homes. We don't have blinders on but we aren't doom and gloom either.

Buyer beware applies everywhere and everyone should have a home inspection done.

I know about the duplex sections as I own one in a duplex area in the B section of Palm Coast. Luckily again, the other duplex's in our area are kept up better than some other's I've seen.

We watched our home being built and know for a fact it's well built and I'm sure there's plenty out there that are.

Personally, I would like the home building to stop for awhile in order to sell the back log of homes presently on the market. This would help everyone.

Bravo Rocketman 10 - I could have not have said it any better.....that is exactly my thoughts! Every statement! Our street and area (B section, too) is nice, too. Been here for over 15 years now, in this area!

Also appreciated your last sentence! What a mess it has been with all that building! Please STOP for awhile - let the economy and this area catch up!!
