Many here will be happy to give detailed recommendations......but that works both ways.
Florida is a big place....many differences.

What do YOU want?? Do you have a family? Are you young and single, or looking for a retirement heaven?

What line of work are you in......will you need work?? You need to provide more info..........

We are engaged and have no children and don’t want any at this time. We have two small dogs 12&14lbs (schnoodles). We are tired of living here in New Jersey it’s getting to the point that you cannot drive anywhere cars everywhere. With that said my background is in Information Technology presently I work as a Field Tech Engineer for a nationwide company that does document solutions and also provides total IT support like a combo of XEROX and HP merged together with ought releasing the name.

My Fiancé works from home as a Medicare Specialist for a nationwide insurance company and she is also a LPN but is only working for the insurance co right now. She can work anywhere. I on the other hand will have a work transfer so I am trying to transfer looking to be near (TAMPA, JACKSONVILLE, and ORLANDO) but be within reasonable distance 20-30 miles around to be more precise.
I am 28yrs and my Fiancé is 35yrs old we like to do things but we just want an area that we don’t have to worry about home invasions, car broken into people selling drugs or hooking. Just want to be at home and it’s a nice quiet area whether it’s a house or an apartment. Although we are looking for a home now but if we cannot find anything then it will be an apartment.

*Where we are now there is no car break in and or apartment breaks in or home invasions but we have some people that simply do not work, make noise, kids all over the place causing havoc, trashy neighbors and neighbors that well would even look through your mail to see what type of employment you have. 1bedroom apartment would have like 12 hindus living in it and or south americans. NO WHERE TO PARK HERE BY THE WAY! I used to be a vounteer Firefighter I gave that up because I would always have to park like 2 blocks away and run to the car to try to make it to the firehouse by the time I got there all trucks are out. People live like animals here.

All three you mentioned would be good for both career fields....
Now...
Jax sits on the Ga border and ALOT of rebuilding and beautification has been done and is continuing. My co-worker's 30 yr old daughter just moved there and loves it. It also sits on the beach if that's important to you.

Orlando sits in the middle of the state but it takes less than an hour to get to the beaches on the east side. It's also convenient to get to other areas in the state and with the International Airport close by it's not far from anywhere. For outdoor activities we have lots of parks and the West Orange Trail and Seminole Trail for biking, walking or running. Orlando is also the baby of the three.

Tampa is also closer to the beaches and as I understand it has done alot of revitalizing as well, hopefully someone from there can fill you in or confirm this.

The tempo of all three are different so I would visit them and see which one feels right to you.

Keep in mind on the crime issue, all cities have crime. Once you decide which one feels right, then you can work on finding the right neighborhood.

Good luck with your search.

I live in North Port and like SW Florida. To me it's more laid back than the other coast. The beaches are beautiful in SW Florida. The home prices in North Port are very reasonable compared to other places in the state or country.

One problem with anywhere in Florida is the lack of jobs. From what I'm hearing this is the case most everywhere. If you worked in the medical field you probably wouldn't have a problem with jobs though.

Everyone is an advocate for their own area, but I would suggest Tallahassee. It has canopy roads (5) and its hilly unlike most of the rest of the state. We also have 4 seasons unlike most of the rest of florida. Traffic isn't bad compared to the rest of the state and home prices are more affordable than other places in florida.

What is bringing you to Florida? If you are looking for the tropical lifestyle, then you want to live south of Vero Beach/ Bradenton.

If you are looking for more change of seasons, old south type of living, then north Florida is for you.

If you are looking for crowds and plenty of driving, Orlando is your town.

Keep in mind that any big city, and you have named three, will have drugs, crime and traffic.

We where looking at a few homes last night around lakeland and riverview and found very nice style homes. But then I come to find out it sits in a community association just about every house we look at has this.

Is this something common in FL? If so why people like this dont you have to pay all these fees and they tell you cannot have a fence this and that?
