You have a good holiday too Mike. And a great 2011 too!
Hey Chris, hope you have a great year in 2011 - when are you moving to Ormond?

Anyway, it is definitely great bike weather, I am about to take a ride myself!

Great place for a vacation and depending on what part of Florida and what your income level is would define your second question ... I love Florida myself , but have friends who hate it .

Avoid some of the areas with high unemployment like Hernando County, Marion County and Pasco County (all are in the 13%-14% range).

The better areas for jobs right now are Fort Walton Beach/Destin at 7.8%, Gainesville at 7.8%, and Tallahassee at 8.1%. Bear in mind the national average is hovering at around 10%. The best big city in the state is Jacksonville, which is around 10%. The rest of the state on average is solidly in the 11%-12% range.

In terms of best schools in the state in areas with lower unemployment rates, look to either St Johns County (Jacksonville) Public Schools or Okaloosa County (Fort Walton Beach/Destin) Public Schools.

If you like violent thunderstorms EVERY day during the spring, summer, and fall, it's the place for you.

If you like paying $1200 a month for rent and want to make $8 an hour IF you can find work, it's the place for you.

If you like paying thousands in homeowners insurance, auto insurance, and property taxes, it's the place for you.

If you like high crime, rude, and old people, it's the place for you.

That's just the start...
I agree I have lived in Florida all my life,it has just gotten so bad that so many people have had to leave Florida because they can't afford to live here.
