Hi, I am Valigator and found your site searching about Citizens Insurance...I had a house fire Dec 22, 2006 and am presently in the middle of this claim. My policy expires Jan 29,2007....can the insurance company drop me in the middle of this claim period? I know they have the option not to re-new but how can they throw me into this black hole of uninsurability when my house is down to the block and studs at my own cost by the way! Never have been thru this and everyday I get more questions than answers.....appreciate your help...

I would doubt it very much, if you had a car accident a month before your insurance they would pay providing you had the proper insurance.
Citizens has a bad name to say the least and I am sorry that you have had to have them but I haven't heard or read that they are not paying up on non hurricane claims. How much is your deductible? Mine with citizens is 7500.00, scary. Good luck to you, I hope all your family is alright.

Thanks everyone...I watched the other night "The town that fought back" it was more about State Farm and Bay city residents, what was that Congressmans comment " I rate insurance companies right down there with child molesters" that says it all doesnt it! I am still in the battle, you will love this one...The Check Is In The Mail wait 21 business days then call us back....I never realized how many voice mailboxes Citizens had...Thanks again for your responses....

Is the reason you have Citizens because , your area cant get insurance only with Citizens?. My stepson's policy went from 800 to 3000 for 2007 he is in Hernando County Ridge Manor area, ( nver filed a claim.)
