Any suggestions on areas to stay away from due to being too large, high crime rate, etc?
We are from a small rural town in Mid Missouri and my husband is a senior internet network administrator for a local phone company. We are looking to move to our final place to live in comfort and eventually retire there. But we still have 30 years to work.
We want fairly close to the ocean since he is a diver and would want to do this on weekends. No kids in school, just one in college.
Would like to be smaller town within short distance to major shopping and job market.

Inlet Beach west of Panama City is nice. It is convenient to both PC and Destin. This is a new "Green" neighborhood that is being developed. Really affordable homes with a great location. Here is the website:

There are a couple of new communities being developed along Back Beach Road which would be convenient to the new Peir Park.
