I have an old 1971 1 bedroom mobile home. My electric bill for July was $75.00. I am very conservative with my AC. I am usually only home during the evenings. During the day the AC is set at a number, so it won't come on much. When I get home I set it for a comfortable level. I found this business of setting the temp so the house didn't get to hot all day, was causing the bill to be very high. So this works best for me. Right now the AC is shut off completely, because I decided to drive up here to Massachusetts until Sept.

I have a small 2 bedroom place 576 sq ft. This month it was $72, I run a bedroom ceiling fan 24/7, my bedroom ac which is about 6000 BTU is on almost 24/7 for the dogs. I cook with electric and also have a chest freezer as well as a full size fridge. . I rarely run the living room window AC, I hang in the dog's lair in the bedroom. Water heater is always on as well as my PC and 42 inch LCD that is 7 years old so it's not that energy efficient and I use it as a monitor.

Mine is in Broward county in a nice 55+ park with lawns, pool and tennis court and other amenities. It's 40 years old but was updated before I bought it. Lot rent and tax and water is $690 a month and I'm asking $8K, I got an offer for $7,500 today (sketchy guy) and another guy coming to see it tomorrow,

Wait, it gets worst. Obama's "climate change" bills are trying to close all coal fired plants and he's placing very heavy reductions in carbon emissions which will increase considerably the cost of electricity. He told everyone this before the election his plan would skyrocket electric bills and he was right. Elections really do have consequences.

You won't easily find 50+, most communities are 55+.

These days you see a massive amount of "lot rent" scams once you get about 15 miles from a urban city.

About the only reliable way to do that is a notarized agreement. Which will likely be rejected by the owner the second you suggest it because it goes against what they are trying to do directly..

You have NO rights just like full-renters.. You can take them to claims court or file a complaint with a few different organizations who have NO legal grounds while you're being escorted off the property.

Just pay the extra 200-400 for full rent and don't make sucker investments..

EVEN BETTER!! Buy a place by any means necessary and quit putting your fate in the hands of bad people..

1997-1,100 sq ft-2bed/2bath-single wide near Dallas, Texas. Metal roofing and temp is set at 68 degrees 24/7, three people in the home. Electric bill used to around $240 a month in the summer and this Spring we installed new double pane windows and electric is running about $130 a month this summer so far . I'm almost positive that it would lower more if we changed to a shingle roofing.

I have a 2006 1500sf doublewide and live north of Orlando. I bought this place 10 months ago. My power bills peaked at $290 then my hvac got struck by lightning. I now use energy star window units and bill last month was $180. I leave the living room/kitchen ac on all day and turn it off at night. I turn my bedroom ac off while at work and the kids leave theirs on during the day. I think the bill just depends on the efficiency of the unit and how you use it. I can't stand my ac higher than 78 so I just suffer with the bill.

My HVAC was probably not maintained by the previous owners so I am grateful the new window units give me a break from the heat and the high energy bills
