You would be surprised, station wagons are collectors items now - especially 1940s-60s models and some 70s models such as this one and the Ford Country Squires. They are becoming more and more rare. If you can find me one worth its weight in scrap metal, please let me know.

Thats why there are only few left around these days.

Some people like old station wagons because they are unique, rare and different and unfortunately, I am one of those people. These cars cannot be found setting around at any car lot like they were back in the 1980s. They are rare now. One sold on ebay not too long ago for $9000, but it was like new. Then there are the "derbiers" out there. Some will pay $1500-2000 for a good body just to crash in a derby.

Yes, this one has some rust thanks to the Florida humidity.

Yes, he bought the car from a old lady that bought it brand new in Florida... the car had set for years, so I guess it has the old plates still on it. I know they are older than 1987, because I have a 1987 Florida plate and it has the state in the center... it was either green or orange. I have a 1991 plate too and its one color or the other.

Thanks for the replies!

I didn't know about all the different colored antique tags. The one I have on the ole drop top Benz is white with red letters. Any ways, I'll keep a lookout for that wagon!

Thanks Karen! Turns out I am going to get my engine rebuilt this week in mine, but still interested in this one.

Yeah, that plate looks alot like a old California plate. I have a 1972 California plate thats blue w/yellow letters. I think they used that plate for years.

Thanks again.

YES! Thats it! Now if I can only find the car in front of that blue tag with the woodgrain.

I guess its hopeless... that car could be anywhere in Florida, or in the United States by now.

Default That license plate is...

an antique plate for FL. I should know, I have one. Yep, that does look like Spring Hill. Post an ad in the area and on Craigslist looking for the guy and his car.
