First, I love living in Florida. The tropical foliage, warm weather, white sand beaches -- fantastic. I was so happy when I moved here from New England and I never, ever wanted to feel cold or see snow again! I've been here for 5 1/2 years now.

However, lately, whenever I see a snowy scene on TV or in a movie I want so badly to be there walking in it or playing in it, etc. Suddenly I'm thinking "Winter wasn't so bad. It was rather nice really."

Anyone else love our tropical/subtropical weather but still get nostalgic for winter?

Yeah.... but it's always easy to hop a plane and head off into it to "play."

As many people say, snow is nice when you don't have to LIVE in it, drive through it to work, and shovel it.

you need to move to southern CA. Then you can have both (drive to the mountains for snow).

Heh, thanks! So Cal is nice, but I've determined my ideal climate is No. California/San Francisco bay area. I love rain and cloudy/foggy days, but warm sunny weather would be close by as would snow mountains

I never plan on returning to the state of FL & hope my children never want to go to Disney World BUT....come Feb/Mar when it's very cold, very raw & everything is gray....I miss the sun & warmth. Mid march anywhere up north is a complete drag.

That's why there are planes & if we needed to, we could hop on them & go "play" in the ocean & then head back home to sanity!

What about Vegas? That's cheaper than California, plus near snowy mountains as well. Only thing it doesn't have is the ocean

I would live in one of those western states that has a winter with moderate snowfall and mountains to look at. What I can't stand are places like the northeast that are just dead and ugly looking in the winter.

Most of the time individuals will miss what they don't have. Snow is one, but many times went we have huge snow storms like in Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, Michigan, and other states, the snow gets individuals to think about a warm weather placeshttp://bestsmileys.com/winter/11.gif (broken link). Like on cold night in North Dakota that the temperature dropped to 82 belowhttp://bestsmileys.com/winter/14.gif (broken link), I was thinking about the Virgin Islandshttp://bestsmileys.com/water/9.gif (broken link).

One of my favorite shows. I sit there, turn up the ceiling fan, and curl up with my blanket. I always used to curl up with my blanket and watch tv after being outside in the snow. It's very comforting. Another think I miss.
