Can anyone comment on Beverly Beach and specifically the Shelter Cove development? Beverly Beach is between Palm Coast and Flagler Beach. Would this be a nice / safe area to live? Any good local spots where senior men gather for morning coffee?

yes, safe place, very. A1A is very noisy; bikers. beverly beach camptown diner is friendly meeting place. mostly older retirees. finding a place to live is another matter...local realtors are lazy and greedy and the properties overpriced. be sure to check out comps at the flagler county actual SOLD records. the rule in beverly beach and flagler beach real estate is, "... if it didn't sell, JACK-UP the asking price!"

There is also the Java Joint a little south on A1A and Friends Cafe in Flagler Beach.

I love that area- all of A1A area in Flagler County is beautiful and very safe.

And there are many great deals on real estate out there. Don't be afraid to make a low offer.

As a previous resident of Beverly Beach...I can agree with the others above. From what I understad, before Nasa built the space center there...they researched this part of the East Coast...and found that the area from around Jacksonville......thru Marineland.....thru the Nasa Space Center....and a bit further south....seemed to be a "safe harbor" of sorts....from dangerous weather. Ergo, this is why they constructed it there. (Anyone got any further info on this.....or better info??) I found it to be a delightful place to live.....the people kind....and all amenities to be there that you needed. I personally liked to grab a "takeout lunch".....and stop at one of the seaside tables along A1A....to eat a leisurely meal....enjoy the sounds and smells of the sea....and watch for dolphins!! Would like to be back there again!!!
