At that time, it will be full season (meaning as in tourists galore), weather will be beautiful, and you should rent for a year to see if Naples is your cup of tea. Do you have a job lined up? How old are your children? Have you ever been there before, and/or any part of FL?

What do you mean by 'cars to buy'? You want to know who'll give you a good deal or what model car we think you should drive?

Here is a link to test results in the Collier County School system (which includes Naples) which may be helpful in determining which school you want your kids to attend:

Sorry should have included some details.
I have 3 kids (9, 6 & 2), i have a business to go straight into and i intend to rent in Naples for the year to see if we like it.

Schools are important and thanks for the link, in terms of cars i guess im looking for reliable models, suv maybe. We have been to the states, NY, Boston but never to FL, so it should be an experience

Be careful of the scammers if you are coming over here to "take over a business". I've been hearing some fascinating stories of how the Irish are getting ripped off and losing a ton of money.

Ireland is absolutely beautiful. Lovely people there too. Very, very friendly.

There are few bad places in Naples except areas in East Naples close-in like Davis Boulevard and some areas around the airport, but even they are not really bad. You can tell an unpleasant area just by looking at it and if there are pawn shops and bail bond stores keep away.

Naples is a great place for kids and good luck with keeping them off the beach!
Naples still has a long way to fall. Renting is the best idea for a few years.

You can not get a home for "below its value". That is impossible. The price a home sells for is its value. There is no other way to measure the value of a house except for what someone is willing to pay for it.

Naples will decline at least another 20-30% over the next 2 years. Prices are still way out of line with incomes and rents.
