Okay, First time poster here, I REALLY need some help!

This may get confusing but I'm going to try, I'll give names to people, to make it easier.

Bob has a Van
Bob gives van to Brandon for owed debts, gives him title, signs it over to blank so brandon can sell it.
Brandon sells van to Blake, blake loses title.
The title was never registered that it ever changed hands from Bob's hands.

Now I'm trying to buy the van from Blake, but they don't have the title, I have the van in my posession because they never used it, but I can't use it without a title. What can I do? I have the Title Number, and VIN Number and everything like that.
We finally got in touch with Bob's Wife, he is in Texas storm chasing, but I need to have this figured out very soon. Will his wife work as a standin for him if he can't be there?

I was thinking that I could go to the DMV with his wife, say that he signed the title over to me, but we lost it. He can' t be here because he is out of town for an extended period of time, his wife would be there to prove ownership.

Thank you in advance for all of your help!!

If the van was titled only to Bob then he will have to give someone "power of attorney" to handle the matter for him. It's a specfic POA no different really then you giving a car dealership POA to buy you a tag and title for your new car.

If the van title had Bob's wife's name on it. Then she can handle it.

Can he remotely give her POA just to do this? How difficult is that?
It's his name on the title, not hers :/

First...Blake is a genius...Second, Florida makes this pretty easy compared to other states. Have you gone through the DMV? I've never heard of anyone having trouble getting a second title printed. As long as there isn't some unknown person on the title it shouldn't be a problem.

A big problem with purchasing a Chinese made scooter is that they are sent with only a bill of sale and many states don't recognize that as a form of title or ownership. However, Florida isn't one of those states.

I haven't tried going through the DMV, I wouldn't know what to say! What would I say/

Just tell them the situation and give them all the information you can. Don't make anything up just explain that the title was lost.

Yes.
Not hard at all.
Just go to your local tag office. They can give you the form.

As the other poster said. Just go in and explain things to them like you did here. They will help you fix it.

If Bob 's wife name is on the title as 'or' rather than 'and' then she can sign it, otherwise follow the good advise given here.

i have a question, im a first time post and could use some help. My ex and i bought a car about 8 years ago. The second year we separate and go our own ways. I have had possesion of the car, however the title is in her name. In the years ive had the car ive spent thousands of dollars of maintenance alone. We both bought the car but she paid more for the car than i did. She told me that she would pay off the last several hundred remaining on the car because i lost my job. She then explained she didnt want the car and she would give me the title when she paid it off. This was almost 8 years ago. about 6 months ago she gives the title to an attorney and demands money. what if any are my options?
