If the state has a slight majority of Dems, how is it that the Repubs are in control of everything?!?!?!
Even gerrymandering cant justify this big a difference!

The state Democratic Party is mind-blowingly awful, IMO, and frequently does a poor job in getting qualified candidates on the ballot outside of reliable Democratic strongholds.

It's not the number of registered voters, it's the number of people that actually vote. Besides, just because a person is registered as a Democrat doesn't mean they have to vote for a Democrat. most people want to vote for the candidate they think will do the best job, or at least we hope they put some thought into it.

when I was having lunch at my favorite picnic table across the street from work the week before the general election. Apparently, the two men sitting next to me were local politicians running for office. From their conversation, I gleaned that one was a Demorcat. They were discussing Obama. The other man said he had voted for Obama too, but was trying to keep it a secret (no bumper sticker on car) because he was running as an Independent. He said, "If the people in this town find out that I voted for Obama, they will never vote for me." "That is why I am running as an Independent in the first place."
