The old saying rings true ................. you get what you pay for.
My wife and I lived on a Section 8 voucher she recieved from FEMA after her house was destroyed in Katrina ( we met in Jan. 06 ) in a low income apartment building and it was one of the nicest places I've lived in.

Just because a building accepts low income or section 8, doesn't mean it's a ghetto or white trash apartment complex or in a bad neighborhood.

It was a general statement but many ARE filled with crime and drugs.

Cheaper rents = more problems usually, but not always.

Seniors are leaving Florida. They say the cost of living has risen, taxes have risen, and the place has alot of child molesters. It's not as safe as some say on these posts. The humidity is also brutal and if you want to be a prisoner in an air conditioned home or apartment, then run to Florida.

Afritrax,
We moved from Ca. here, job market is as good as your resume. You have the same choices here for your field, as anywhere. Supply and demand. You have a specialized field? Good luck, your able to pull some old skills out again, small engine repair, any auto tech. field, things that will help a small business survive. They're closing every day. Good luck, we know how to commute, no big deal. Wherever the decent job is, Floridians arent used to sitting in their cars 49% of their days. Be cool.
