I agree with you there. I gained 10 lbs in 6 months living here. I usually can walk 4 miles but not here.

However, up here it's been about 42 for a week until mid day. That's ok with me.

I've lost 25 lbs since I left Florida 2 years ago. I usually jog 3-4 miles a day, 4 days a week and/or take a long bike ride on the weekend. This was after being a couch potato for years in FL. The heat down there just drained every ounce of energy I had. I know some people love the heat, but I think I am genetically predisposed to like colder weather. Could never stand the heat, or get used to it, even though I grew up with it!

Florida is in the bottom 25% for obesity rates of all the states.
That would mean it is one of the thinner states.

It's been 42 here for over a week. It only goes out of the 40's in the sun when there is midday sun. I was going to move further north (in FL) so I didn't have to live in 70 and above based on everyone swearing so here.

It didn't get out of the 40's in Vero Beach during the day? You've got to be kidding. You may already know this but the official temperatures are always taken in the shade. So if it is 60 degrees like it was yesterday here in Orlando that's what it was in the shade. Probably close to 70 degrees with the very strong sun angle here in Florida (you can burn any month of the year down here!). Just imagine what our official highs would be from May-sept if the readings were taken in the sun. we'd be about 115 every day. By the way, the last two mornings I was up at 7:30am and it was 41 degrees on weds and 44 degrees today. And you guys are warmer than we are (on the coast +further south).

Yeah I lost weight when I moved here. How can you gain weight moving to Fla. I spent 7 months a year inside freezing my a** off up north not getting any exercise. You can't even get a good walk going in the snow cause you just fall and break your butt on the ice under it! It might be hot during the day in Fla but towards sunset its fine enough to get out and walk.
