They do hit you with a pretty big fee the first time you register a car in the state. After that, annual plate renewal isn't too bad.

Doh! I got 2 cars plus 2 motorcycles! so hope it isn't too bad!

Okay, it's only $100 right now for initial license plate in addition to yearly fee. A couple years back, we paid $300 for an initial plate fee. (Once you pay that, you don't have to pay it again as long as you've got the same number of vehicles. You can just move the plate from the old vehicle to the new one and let the state know that you've got rid of the old car and bought a new one)

Alright cool. Any one got any good recommendations for a rental place. currently I am looking at the standard apt complexes. That are on the Panama city beach side.
Looking at Cabana west apt. and alexan Back beach apt's.
Those seem to be in price range and a bidding war for my business :P
