Ladies & gentlemen, I'm stuck between a rock, a hard place, and 1/4-life crisis. I have been in a mix of unemployment, underemployment, and in a search for a career & location change since February. I used to teach in the MS Delta and in Lake Providence LA in the rural northeast corner between Jackson MS & Monroe (actually coached football & track and enjoyed both), and I have not had the best hand in the education industry, so I have been looking to start anew, except a few problems......

1) To start, I'm back in Lake Providence around a good family who has taken me in but of course living there has its troubles, the only places to start a new career and new goals in NE LA is either Monroe, Ruston or Metro Vicksburg or Natchez in MS, so I'm looking into moving to the above-mentioned cities.

2) I don't have a job and am looking to either one of the 2 cities mentioned with outside chances of Houston or Las Vegas.

3) Around April or May, I FINALLY decided what career I want to have as a football scout or a sports writer, so when the time comes, I do have goals on a masters at either FSU, FAMU or UF to earn a masters in Mass Comm or Public Relations.

The reason behind Pensacola is because I have family in Mobile AL close by P-Cola but I DO NOT and WILL NOT move back to Mobile because I do have family & close friends I do miss and also want me back but all the baggage behind it is too much for me to even be in the same county, much less the same town. I miss the coastal area and the way of life that I grew up in, but it is a life that I feel would be better spent in FLA with a more diverse population.

The reason behind Tallahassee is because I am actually more familiar with the city than I am with Pensacola even if I only grew up 45 miles away. I have family who stays in town, graduated from FAMU and FSU Law alike. I already know a majority of my surroundings and the cityscape. I also have gone to various camps at FSU and while I have been a Gator fan most of my life and have intentions of going to graduate school or receiving another undergrad degree, I feel confident that I can obtain that same education at Florida State in an environment like Tallahassee with its urban benefits and multicultural atmosphere. If I later decide on UF, I would have to spend an ample amount of time to see if I could fit in just as well in Gainesville.

I live in Tallahassee, and I like it. But you may like Pensacola better for different reasons.
