I sure do agree with you! All the years (17) that I've been investing have not been profitable.

Should we place the majority of this money in the purchase of the home in florida, or invest the majority of it. We could live just about mortgage free if we put this and what else we have saved into a home in florida. The sound of no mortgage payment is very appealing. We figure we could get a pretty decent home on the space coast for approx 150,000. What's your opinion? Thanks.
My spouse and I moved to Melbourne in July 2008. We are looking for a house to buy. We are hopeing to find a house with an acre of land. We looked in the area of Windover Farms but the owners selling are still asking the bubble price. If we cant find the home with acre we will look to buying a home in Viera. However, most homes there are still at bubble cost. We do hope be able to take advantage of the 4.5% interest rate loan that is expected in Januay 2009 but not at the risk of losing a large amount of home value when the homes reach the bottom. We are in the planning stage of putting our cash on hand in gold coins for security since we believe a depression is knocking on the door and dont want to be caught with 2 cents on dollar. Once we find the house we want we will convert the gold coins. BTW we bought a home in JAX a couple of years ago with 25% down and lost all of it and some. We will continue to rent until we are comfortable with the purchase for a new home. The only money we have in the stock market is what the company matches and it is invested outside of the USA.
