My family and I are moving from Michigan to Brooksville next month. I'd appreciate any input you may have about area. Good or bad all comments will be greatly appreciated. I have 4 daughters from ages 4-9, feedback on schools would also be great. Our family enjoys outdoor activitys hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling etc. Brooksville seems like it has all that with the peace and quiet of the country. However close enough to busy Tampa and Orlando. Thanks for your imput, this is a huge decision and I need to get it right the first time. Thanks in advance

Hi Mike! I can't really help you with schools, but we live in Dade City, which is a little town just southeast of B-ville. Your family will love the area - it is peaceful, semi-rural with plenty of places for the activities you enjoy. And housing is very reasonable compared to the rest of Florida. Homeowner's insurance will probably be high, but you have probably heard about that. Also, as you mentioned, it is an easy drive to the big city of Tampa, so you aren't too far from anything.

Good luck on your move!

Talking Hi

I live next to Brooksville - tell me the names of the schools or the area/street you are moving to and I will find out about the schools for you. Brooksville is a lovely area with many miles of country. Plus there is lots to do around here you are close enough to drive to the beach here in Weeki-Wachee - Pine Island. IT is cheap to get in and clean plus shallow for the little ones. Or there is Rogers Park on the weeki-wachee river. You can fish off the piers here without a fishing license down at Bayport Pier. Many areas around to picnic and enjoy the outdoors. Just make sure to pack some warm clothing it does get cold in Brooksville. I did not take my winter cloths and had to buy all new. When you live here awhile the cold really gets you and sometimes I wear dress boots with heavy socks. Plus gloves and winter coats.

gypsychic and rrjanice thank you for your reply's. Janice I'll have to wait a few more days to give you some street and school names as I can't seem to make up my mind on what beautiful area we will choose. I've looked at so many houses they all start to look the same. I can't seem to choose between Brooksville, Citrus Springs, Spring Hill, Hommossa, Inverness etc...I love the whole area. Any input on any of these to help me narrow it down?. Thanks, I'm glad I have found these forums. I'll admit all the negitive posts were starting to scare me away from Fl but living close to Detroit as I do I have a feeling the people with the negitives have never seen crime and gangs like we have in the "Motor City".
