Florida is hot and humid all over. Best advice I can give is move as close to the coast as possible, lots of nice breezes.

That said we live near Sarasota Bay, and we will never leave - this is truly paradise for us!

Strange but true. Tallahassee is burning hellish hot in the summer.

But then it gets down <20F sometimes in the winter...

I remember reading an article a while back that ranked Tallahassee as #2 worst heat index in the US during the summer, only behind some town in Missouri....

It can be really bad. Natives know better than to go outside when it gets like that.

Tallahassee is far enough south but still gets the continental weather - no sea breeze or other mitigation, so it is just like being in Macon, GA or south Alabama...only it is a little farther south so it gets really, really hot.

With 100% humidity. Steambath.

I'm in N.Central Florida and IMO the summers here are brutal... almost like a sauna I reckon. We spend a lot of time at the springs and in air conditioning.
