I'm buying a home and would appreciate any recommendations for reputable homeowner insurance companies. Thanks.

I don't know if you are able to get Florida Farm Bureau insurance in South Florida? We have had a policy with them for 10 years(I'm in N. central) and they have been great to deal with. I would recommend them.

Where are you located? I've been working with Satin Jones at Izzi Insurance. There phone number is 941-575-1110. They were competative and their service was great.

I hope I don't get whacked for giving this info out.

Some one here - who I won't name (SoFLGal) helped me find them.

Your premium will depend on a number of factors to include your credit score, the age and size of the home and its location. The following website was developed to help Florida homeowners regarding insurance ---> Compare Homeowner's Insurance Rates.

The state of Florida offers big discounts for things like hurricane shutters, tie downs on your roof, and Miami-Dade garage doors. The program is called www.MySafeFLoridaHome.com I believe they are still coming out for free to rate homes for wind resistance. Once this report is turned into your insurance company you will receive the savings.

I believe they are done with the free inspections unless you were already enrolled and waiting for the inspection.
You can pay for the inspection to get discounts on insurance but the matching grants for the work is used up.
