Well Santa Rosa County is going to go big in the near future, read below.

Hundreds of people are at the Saenger Theater tonight... To hear plans for a massive housing development in Santa Rosa County.

The site will be the largest in the area's history.

Channel Three's James Jackson is at the Saenger Theatre with more.

That means it's lunchtime at "Bayou Cafe" in pace.

Big business for the restaurant.

Owners hope a new development will serve up even more success.

Timothy Allen/Bayou Cafe:
"We're just hoping for business. We're hoping for people to come in and eat with us. I know that the community out there that they're building is a big one. Supposed to be really nice. So I know that they're going to have a lot of things there to offer you know, any resident who wants to move down here."

Allen is celebrating the construction of "Jubilee."

The "Eagle Group," from Atlanta, plans to build 588 new homes on this property, off Luther Fowler Road.

The community will also include swimming pools, schools, shops, and a championship golf course.

Don Salter/Santa Rosa Co. Commissioner:
"It's going to be a quality development. Should be quality people in there."

Commissioner Don Salter says jubilee will generate 1-point-2 million dollars for the county.

"These fees will go towards improving the infrastructure within that development area. We will already be using some of those fees to go towards the Five Points Intersection improvement and the eventual four laning of Woodbine Highway."

The homes will cost anywhere from 270-thousand to over 1-million bucks.

People who live nearby are looking forward to the project.

Gail Montgomery/Lives Nearby
"I just know there's a lot of excitement and more improvements everywhere because of it. So it's very exciting."

Timothy Allen won't have to wait long for those customers. As construction begins this summer
