Well, in 10 minutes, my husband will be at the closing of our first FL house!!! I am so excited. BUT, a little sad as well. I really wish I could have been there, but I had to stay behind with the sale of this house and for the kids with school and all. I signed all of my paperwork and mailed it back, but it wasn't the same. But, never the less, in a little while, I will be an official florida homeowner.

Congrads Minniemom!!! Boy, that was quick! I wish I was at that point....unfortunately though we are in a lawsuit with our builders (for over 9 years) and are still awaiting trial. We hoped to be over this nightmare by the end of spring and have the house sold and moved by fall but we just got a letter in the mail the other day about ANOTHER continuance. I was so upset! Good luck in your move!!!!

Congratulations and what a coincidence....we close on our house today as well! We close at 2:00.... we are buying in Port Orange (just south of Daytona Beach). We've been living in Ormond Beach (just north of Daytona) for the last 5 months while we decided where we wanted to buy.

Thanks for all of the good wishes! He just called a little while ago and to say he's got the keys!!! I can't believe it. Now, I just have to finish packing up this place and go to the closing up here on LI. I can't believe the difference between the states with the closing proceedings. In NY, they drag out forever!! We'll be paying two mortgages for a month or so - oh well - looks like bread crumbs for dinner!
It's in Spring Hill - which I think is a good location for us. My inlaws are in Inverness and my cousins are in Lithia, so we're close enough, but not too close for drop ins!
Shedav - Sorry to hear about your ordeal with the builders. I hope things ar resolved quickly for you - I know moving is stressfull enough without having other problems involved. I feel for you!
FLimpressions - I thought all Floridians were supposed to buy ME a drink - so I can get so drunk that I won't notice or care about the cost of the insurance premiums. LOL
