We are considering renting a beach house in May in St. George Island, and would appreciate any information and photos anyone has about the island. Good restaurants? Nearest grocery?
I think there are a few shops and restaurants on the actual island, but mostly you cross the bridge and go to Apalachicola for dining and grocery shopping.
There are many fine restaurants in Apalach, and the Piggly Wiggly is okay (actually, their wine selection is quite good, and reasonably priced.)

Thanks in advance!
There's also a small market on the island that's very handy if you run out of something. They have a very good meat section.
Oh, terrific! Thanks--I didn't know Apalachicola was that close, I figured it was about 30 min away.
Well, that's about right. It's 20-30 minutes away.
There is Eastpoint, too, but it does not quite have Apalach's charm.
With a small grocery store that Casey mentions, I think you will be fine.
we stayed at st. george Island last year, and we are going back this year . we loved it. It is quiet, and not as busy as the other beaches. we also stayed at fort walton and loved it.
