It's true with this, or anything else. You have to know someone, cold-calling out of the phonebook is asking for trouble. Here, a lot of people havent lived here long, including the trades people. It's a lot easier to get away with some crap, in fact it's the norm.

Water purification systems are a rip-off for us country folk with well water and the air-conditioning / heating manitenance contractors are sometimes rips also. We had a year contract for A/C heat maintenance with Darron Air Conditioning and Heating and they convinced us we needed an air purification system. We took the bait. The system cost us $1200. It took him 10 minutes to install it. I later checked on the price for the system retail and it was $342.00 at Lowe's. Not bad. $758 for 10 minutes work. Be careful.

Having lived in Florida for the past 16 years, I really wonder if it's just in Florida that we have this problem?
It may have to do with the way of the world....I really think the heat melts people's intelligence here....because...you see....in regards to the basic work week for someone in the service industry....
Monday....9 a.m. is really more like noon....if someone shows up.
Tuesday....is really Monday, and with the first night of good sleep, your service worker will show up, without the part....but at least they came...
Wednesday...Has got to be the most productive day of the week!!!!
Thursday....since weekend plans are now in formation, just know that it's also very likely that there may be some "pre-weekend" partying on Thurs eve...
Friday...since Thurs eve actually went into the wee hours because of instigators....at 8 a.m., all participants are wishing it was 5 p.m.
Well...sometimes the above is the way it goes....
Drugs and alcohol are more prevelant than paychecks in Florida. Sorry. Those who call in sick to work on either Mon or Fri. should be required to just show up to show how sick they are, then return home....

Living in Spring Hill since the beginning of time, I have had my share of shoddy
A/C guys, now after many years of talking with people that have used many services I have.......the best plumber......the best A/C guy.....the best electrician.......painter..........irrigation guy.........pest control....best carpet cleaners/tile............all found after years of trials and error.
All are reliable..........and you won't be gorged with prices. I found them through word of mouth, friends, neighbors.
