Ah, the Florida dream.

I hate to bust your bubble but you are more than likely to be disappointed...anywhere. Rather than spell out the exact reason(s), let me simply say that there are too many people, too much traffic, too much pollution, most of the waters are soiled and the governments are bought and sold...and pretend that all of the above does not exist.

I do wish you good luck - but part of luck is always facing reality. And, yes, I have at least a dozen family members who moved to Florida at one time or another. We winter there (Sarasota) and enjoy it, but I'd have to be blind to not see all the problems.

Florida Man is very real. He is everywhere, including out front of your 1.5 million dollar condo near the water.

Some people can establish a life in a gated or similar community and overlook all these things. That's not us.....but if it is you, so much the better. It's all relative.
