On the Atlantic side, where does the 'south' feel vary from the 'north' feel?

The I-4 corridor and northward is spotty, and can feel southern. But for the most part, Ocala and northward is southern feeling. Orlando is not southern, unless you talk about Bithlo or Christmas, parts of Oviedo, St Cloud... but overall, Orlando is not southern feeling, and certainly not much southern hospitality. More like hostility!

North of Ocala is where the real FL starts, atleast in the eyes of natives. Going on up the coast, if you are talking specifically about coastal towns, and can feel somewhat southern once you get up around Brevard County, but again, spotty. Palm Coast is definitely not southern. Otherwise, pretty spotty, but some southern feel to it, especially up in Jax.

Along the Atlantic coast, east of I-95? It starts north of Indiantown Rd, north of Jupiter. The exceptions are only "pockets" (Port St. Lucie, Palm Coast, Palm Bay/Viera, and that's pretty much it). Towns like Stuart, Vero Beach, Melbourne, Titusville, New Syrmna Beach, etc are all still pretty Southern in feel. In general though, I would say north of I-4.

I would not say there is a cutoff line. As some have stated, it is spotty starting just below North Florida. Jacksonville is definitely more southern. In general, Florida is not considered southern. You have to at least hit Georgia for the real thing.

is this really a question? I've lived in Fl. since '82 and this makes no sense to me. It all 'feels' like Florida.

^^^S FL and N FL are very different. Definitely a difference. Places like Miami and Orlando feel like another country, atleast to me.

Seems like the difference is more urban vs. rural to me. Miami is not culturally Southern, but drive out into the Everglades for a couple of hours and I'd bet those living there are. The transplants tend to stick to the more urban areas.

No doubt...J-ville and Miami are very different (the OP wanted to restrict this to the Atlantic side for some reason)

Now...using that knowledge, I can't sensibly answer the OP. Unless we're talking about the weather, where south of Daytona seems more tropical.

I dont understand the question but Vero Beach is the beginning of the "tropics" weather wise and culturally it is about neutral.

A mix of MANY natives and transplants including NY'ers but without the flash of Jupiter or Boca. All the Northerners I met here are assimilated and laid back except when discussing politics. Then they are like NY'ers.

I've found there are many native born Vero people living here they have a distinct accent too which I was surprised to find. I dont know how far that accent goes regionally not that it matters. When I go to places like the orange groves or farm stand etc, it does feel sorta like back in time but that's normal since it's farming...and I like it.

I dont see much difference in coastal towns while driving up the coast till Merritt Island area. Other than more populated versus less populated and tourist versus not tourist...ie Sebastian vs Daytona.
