FL pays some of the lowest wages including both nurses and teachers salaries.

Know several people who work their "real job" and than have a part time job such as a server on weekends or a cashier in Target. They're not doing it for fun, they're doing it because they're not making it on 35K a year.
Yes of course, FL pays some of the lowest wages. I know this guy who makes 80K and is in debt (house in foreclosure) I guess if you are a moron with finances, FL does not pay well.

I also know people working in NY (LI) as waiters making less than 35K a year. 1 pack of cigarettes is $10.

The same tune again and again..

I lived in NC for quite a bit of my life. I RARELY had anyone ask me about church, etc. and it wouldn't bother me if they did. Ppl in Orlando (a large portion) could care less about you, your name, how you're doing, etc. Just get out of their way b/c they are numero uno.

BAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, your last sentence made me laugh!

Its b/c South FL folks tend to be much more self absorbed, especially compared to Charlotte, which is very friendly for its size and amount of transplants, at least in my experiences. Thats the honest truth. And if they did want to know, it would probably be to see if your development was more expensive then theirs (sad but more than likely the case.)

One can always find anecdotal examples to support almost any broad generalization. The fact remains that over 350K new people are moving to Florida annually (in addition to 70 million visitors). -- Anecdotally, we moved here over 40-years ago and have always done well with our careers (certainly not an unusual situation in our circles). In addition to that, who can honestly complain about no state income tax, an overall lower cost of living and great weather year-round?

Could not agree more. I'm like leave me the freak alone and go feel self-righteous somewhere else. Nothing more annoying than hearing about their morals this or Obama that...

Nah, I pass plenty of people everyday who I can just tell were thinking, "thank god that stranger didn't come up and talk to me." Actually, on second thought they're probably just used to being left alone like I am...
