I just want to know how I missed those free passes! I lived there for ten years!

You can swim with the manatees in Citrus County. People from all over the world come here just to do it. If you have your own boat, it won't even cost you a penny to do it or you can rent one for $60 a day or take the tour guide out.

You can get in almost all FL parks for free for a whole year and sometimes 2 years after you buy for 1 day visit.

Been to Seaworld to swim with the dolphins. It was well worth the money. I mean $200 bucks but you got the whole day to spend there, free food, free snorkling equipment with no crowds. They only allow 1000 people a day inside.

Just remember, those posting on this site are just a grain of salt compared to the millions who live here. Heck over half of them probably don't even know about this web site alone.

How many people get the chance to watch a space shuttle launch. Absolutely awesome to see a night launch.

Would love to see this !!!

We live exactly straight across the state from Kennedy Space Center 20 minutes from the West coast and we drove 2 1/2 hours to see it the first night only it didn't go off we drove back home and drove back the next day and it went off. Wow. i wish i could explain it but i can't. It was simply amazing. It took me 13 years to finally get to see it and it was all worth it.

In my experiences in FL, i would say see a shuttle launch, swim with the manatees, swim with the dolphins and go to Key West to see the sunsets.

I think that info may not have been correct. They may be referring to Fla. citizens being able to get a one year pass instead of having to pay daily or paying a huge amount for a 5 day all WDW theme park pass. There probably aren't any parks that would be free to Fla. citizens.

Oh yes, the shuttle launches~You can't imagine the excitement that people from out of state feel when they get to go see the shuttle launch. I work with a guy who has a cousin who went up in a shuttle and their whole family was invited to watch. They were excited weeks before the launch. They turned it into their vacation and spent the time at the Theme Parks and traveled Fla. so they could be there when it landed.

Nope. I had a three-year pass for Universal and Sea World. I paid for my husband, daughter, niece and me, and paid dearly for them. There may have been a slight discount because we were Floridian residents.

There is also a small discount for Floridian residents at WDW.

If she is referring to state parks, it is 85.80 for an annual family pass.

If there is a free pass for Floridian residents I missed it. Could be one, but I surely missed it. I even live in Orlando for a couple of years.

Things I like about Florida:

- the weather for the most part (minus hurricanes and tornadoes)
- palm trees
- the ocean....LOVE the ocean
- lots of family activities throughout the whole state (fairs, theme parks, attractions)
- friendly people
- I LOVE so many of the license plates here. Especially the dolphin, whale and manatee ones.

Great state, is a paradise for many. But is up to US to make it better. Love the northwest area, great weather, beaches, friends, and is open to satisfy everyones needs. Again is up to you to make it work.....

I would like any of you to take a quick note of TRULY how many "negative" threads there are here (Remembering that any "Why are there SO many negative thread" threads are actually from someone who's positive for starters )..... If you are counting every thread with a "negative" comment in it as a "negative" thread then okay, but I'd submit that they're also "positive" threads because they contain "positive" comments as well.......

Anyway, as you were...

Ok, I will help here, reword it as the same posters never or very seldom post anything "positive" about Florida but do post within both types of threads.

This is a "POSITIVE THREAD" and lets keep it that way.

I like the warm summer night breezes and being able to swim in the pool like I did in February at WDW !!

Within a couple hours drive you can leave a paradise spot and find another one.
No other state offers that !

nomoresnow,

Let's just do it! I'm working hard to clear the way to get down there this week...i'll know today if I can....
The wife is ready to start walking there today with or without me. We've been married for almost 28 years.....she told me if we ever talk divorce, (a very unlikely possibility), that I get the northern house with the mortgage, and she gets the paid for Florida house....

Reason enough to stay very faithful!

Frank D.
