Is there anyone out there that can tell me about the St. Mary's/Baker County area in Florida? Any input would be helpful/housing jobs etc.
Thanks

Hello there.
I have quite a bit of family in Duval and Baker County. We love it and as a matter of fact plan on relocating soon.
My inlaws are ministers in Macclenny. The ministry is called "Joyful Word".
They just recently informed me of many newly built homes in baker county. You can view some of them online at www.trulia.com/FL/Macclenny/
I just found this site myself. I hope that it helps.
As far as jobs, there are several and "many more in the process" [so it is being said].

I hope that this answers some of your questions-enjoy your day!

I just found your post about Baker County. I feel you should know the truth
about the county.

I have to say that this is my opinion. I'm not trying to speak for anyone else
here. I can only tell you what I have experienced.

The cops hardly ever do anything unless the press is in town, then they are
right on it. People drive around with their babies on their laps and no one
cares. A lot of people are rude. Customer service doesn't exist in most places
there. A lot of the doctor's have awful bedside manner. Some of them won't
help you at all if you have no insurance. I guess you can just sit there and die
if you don't have an insurance bill they can pad.

There's a ginacologist that comes to town from Jax. every week. He is a
horrible person. He descriminates against a lot of people. He treats you like
dirt if you have no insurance, he preaches the bible to you, which is extremely
inappropriate. He made me feel very uncomfortable. I felt almost violated
when I left. A couple months later I heard some nurses in the local ER saying
the same thing about him. No one ever gets reprimanded there.

Basically, the only people who can be happy there are rednecks who like to
break the law, like to make tons of noise at all hours, like to sit in their
front yards and drink while their children are playing barefooted in the yard
next to a pit bull. A lot of people take pride in killing Bamby and anything
else they can shoot. They are not just trying to feed their families, they
actually get a thrill for killing a defenseless animal and then turn around
and talk about God and the Bible. Didn't God create those animals.

Anyway, I hope you haven't moved to Baker County, or as I like to call
it, "Redneckville USA". If you have, good luck to you.
