I don't think people are unaware, it is more of a "has to be experienced to believed" what 98 with 80% humidity and no breeze for 4 months with much stronger UV rays because of the location feels like phenomenon. It would be the same way with somebody from Florida moving to Minnesota and knowing it gets that cold, but it "has to be experienced to believed" of what -20 F, with 30mph winds for 4 months actually feels like.
