Hello folks,
Hubby wants a cheap place to stay in Apalachicola while he fishes. We are nearing retirement and want (like everyone else) to spend the cold months of the year in Florida and the summer months at home in Ohio.

I am not sure if we wil rent or buy. We looked at some home prices and they are really expensive compared to Ohio. We don't need much. Two bedrooms and a bath and a porch. Close to a boat ramp so he can slide a small boat into the water.

Are there mobile home parks or rentals available?
Thanks.

Apalach is an interesting place, because the main drag and funky downtown is very appealing, but as you move outward, the houses go fairly downhill real fast.
You might be able to find a real nice fixer-upper.
Certainly there are a few trailers around on the outskirts of town, but I can't say that I've seen a whole lot of mobile homes.
Check out Port St Joe too, there is good fishing here as well, and I wonder if it might be cheaper, not sure though.

Have you checked their newspaper ads? Also FSBO may have a bargain listed. There's also a classified ad section at the bottom of this site and you may want to post that you're looking for a home there. Mobilehome.net has a nice listing of mobiles in a lot of areas. Good luck to you.
