We have a family of 5- we are currently living in a small village about 30 minutes from a large city. I am looking for an area in FL that is inland (not too close to the major hurricane damage), a smaller village, low crime and good schools. My kids take part in a lot of after school activities and play hockey, lacrosse and take dance classes. I was looking at Newberry or around the Ocala area. Suggestions? Also where online will I find the most updated site for housing- buying and renting in the areas?

Thanks for any advice!

I have no suggestions as to where to live since I'm not from Florida, BUT you may find a fairly updated list of homes for sale and possibly even rentals at Ocala4Sale. They do have homes for sale from Marion Co. and also a few in Lake Co. is what I've noticed in the past.

Try a town named New Port Richey... Very charming, offers so much, though I can only guess that the schools are good. It is located North of Tampa off Highway 19. Lived there for a couple of years and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Good luck!
