It [i]should]/i] still be valid, but it isn't.... The reasoning IMO crosses too far over into political discourse though, so I'll spare everyone the commentary

I haven't met a single white yet who really gives a damn about skin color alone. It is all about behavior. If minorities as a group tend to behave badly, then of course whites will form negative opinions, avoid minority neighborhoods, etc. It's called self-preservation, and minorities would do the same exact thing if whites were the troublemakers.
I can't believe that I have to explain this to some people.
You are SO correct!!! That's what I always say. It's more than skin color. People act differently. You hit the nail on the head. I totally agree.

People are people not colors.
Honolulu is one of the most mixed race populations and they dont seem to have the issues that Miami has....

Just an observation.

Actually, it is a Latin soda and that is the can that they use to market it to Haitians. Here is the English version.

Why do you assume it is Latin ?

If it does not bother the Haitians , why would you have an issue with it ?

I know you hate Miami and South Florida ... but c'mon you are going to extremes here .. you are really reachin here !!!

I will never , never understand how a person that passionately hates an area so , so much does not high tail it outta here ?

If I was stuck in my own hell , I would do the impossible to leave ... and not breaking your lease is no excuse .. what is happiness going to cost you maybe a couple of grand , heck I would not even think about paying it to save my mental health !!

Default it's everywhere

racisim isn't only bad in florida it is bad all over the world. and it isnt one certain race etc it isnt race at all. it is ignorance. it is mean it is of the devil to dislike anyone because of their skin color. that is no more different than eye or hair color. it is stupid and childish. people are people no matter where you come from or what color you are. there are good people and bad people and thats it. your one or the other. your not a white person or a black person etc as much as you are either a good person or a bad person. and we alllllllllll know right from wrong no matter what we have been taught. if we were taught to dislike over such stupid things we know we were taught wrong. people should be treated by the way they treat people. how boaring we would be if we were alll one color! heck i wish i could change my skin color id love to be a creamy moca!!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!, some people really need to think before they make some of these statements. Racism comes from life experiences that are then twisted into stereotypes, predjudice, and discrimination. You cannot really think that people from different races all act the same or think the same depending on there race. There are many minorites in America that are don't act like the minorites that you have in mind and it becomes racism when you decide to have a "racial preference" to not be around them!

If I had a genie with only one wish, I would wish that human nature could learn to not try to always categorize other people, or groups of people, that are different from what they now but actually realize that we all have far more simularties than all of our differences combined. This is a dream that will probably never come true and sometimes it just becomes very depressing.

The difference between a city like Honolulu and most other cities like Miami and Detroit is simply segregation. Over the last sixty years or so people have practiced de facto segregation due to this so called "racial preference" they have. I have been to Honolulu and was amazed at the difference, very different from cities here. Untill people get past these things we will always have alot of racsim here.

I seem to recall part of a quote from by some religious dude who lived many decades ago, can't remember quite who said it... I just heard it again in February of this year. Something about judging people on the content of their character and not the color of their skin.... I dunno, guess it's just a quaint, old fashioned notion that's not suitable for the 21st century...
