Just curious for those of you who are originally from the Northeast and relocated to FLorida, how do you feel now about the weather? Do you prefer the NorthEast's 6 months of winter or Florida's 6 months of hazy, hot and humidity?
Please share your feelings, for I need perspective....

Lol, why so many more adjectives to describe Florida summers?

Hazy, Hot, Humid..... vs. Frigid, Bleak, Frozen is a nicer way to pose the question. ;-P

I prefer Florida. The 6 months of frigid, bleak, frozen weather leave mental scars that don't heal until July in the northeast.

I prefer FL's heat over NY's cold. I didn't used to like the heat, but once I moved here I got used to it and I prefer bright sunny days over grey ones - that's the big difference for me - the sky.

It is what you make of it.

Born & raised in Ohio. Had to live in central TX for 5 years due to military. Now in SW FL due to husband's job.

I'll take FL weather ANY DAY over central TX weather.

i'm from long island and winters up north are just really depressing and its last from november until mid april usually. just a terrible way to live. But summers down here are plain brutal as well. I like warm weather but not oven hot for 6 months so its a toss up. if u have a great job up north then no way u come down here. florida is certainly not california where it is 70 degrees everyday, in socal at least.

You're right, should have adjectives on both ends!

We don't have snow 6 months a year. At least not on the coastline we don't. We get RAIN when the inland areas get snow. Actually I think it has been about 10 years since we had a White Christmas. What has been happening (global warming?) is that November, December, and January (had 60 degrees this January) has been getting warmer and February, March and April (30s April) has been getting colder. There really wasn't a lot of snow this year. At any rate, I have become a expert at layering clothes. It really DOES work. lol

It is 76 degrees today and I am SWEATING. Taking off your clothes can only go so far. lol Besides, it really doesn't help. I don't like A/C. Last summer they blasted the A/C at work. I sat inside with pants, long sleeves, and a jacket. I started wearing a tshirt underneath so when I had to go outside I could "strip down" and didn't faint with heat exhaustion. No, I would much rather have the cold.

Default Cold vs. hurricanes??

I will take the cold grey winters over the fear of hurricanes any day. Florida has been getting hotter and hotter each year and the hurricanes can do a number on your mind let alone your homeowner's insurance and the destruction it leaves behind.

Default The sun makes you feel so much better

I lived in Florida for 9 years and relocated to NE because I had children. I am ready to move back. I love Florida and would prefer the nice weather over the cold and depressing winters, even the trees look sad.

Besides the pot holes in the streets it is so much prettier in Fla.
