A couple of years ago I was seriously considering a move to Florida. I stumbled upon this site of this guy who lived in Florida and had a site all about moving to Florida. He talked about the huge bugs, how it was hard to find a good service person in Fla, how healthcare was bad, how you better have a/c, etc etc. Also he said that in Florida appearances are very imiportant, and that every one in Florida is from somewhere else. I have been searching and searching for this site but I can't find it and can't remember the address. If someone knows which site im talking about please PM me. Thanks!

If that guy still lives in Florida, he should move......he sounds miserable!

Yes, we have bugs - it's the Subtropics - but we also have lots of beautiful creatures who dine on them (lizards, birds, etc.).

Who DOESN'T have AC in Florida? I've never been in a home or a business that didn't have AC.

By "appearances", yes, shirt and shoes are required in many places (but not all !), my standard uniform is t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops....and I fit right in !

Funny, most of my life we did not have AC in school, and I can barely afford to use it to this day. As for the bugs and pests the only ones you really have to watch for are those with two legs and a "team Metro" logo. It's the current version of the swastika.

Up hill - both ways - in a hurricane!!!

My junior high didn't have AC either. It used to be where the Ocean Center is now (in Daytona.)

Back to topic. Who needs that website when you have all the advice you need here?

if I remember correctly, it also had some positive stuff along with the negative too. It was a very good site really, it just gave alot of facts and good and bad. I soooo wish I could find it though! Now the OP has me on a hunt for it. I wonder if the owner took it down?
