sh__ brown....I refused...and fought to paint them at least the same color of the villa , peach. Now I have a letter in the mail to paint my gutters and leaders the same color in the house...Condo Commandos...pick on everything ---ride around in the lil golf cart peering into your yard , carport, patio......do this, do that....they just told a neighbor to "wash" his shingle roof. Are they nuts? power washing a shingle roof takes off all the pebbles....unbelievable.....DONT EVER GO INTO A HOA !
I cant wait to get away from these people.
I think the roof cleaning is the assoc. responsibility, not the homeowner! That's the exterior of the building... part of "common element"... no???? That should fall under the same umbrella as painting the building or reshingling the roof.

I definately hear ya on this one. Stinking HOA's. Been there, done that! Had so much stress from those nosy commandos and their unreal shinanigans it affected my health and nearly wrecked my family. We were so miserable... finally got out and will NEVER NEVER NEVER do that again!!! Gosh how wonderful and stress-free life is now! lol

Lisa - Hope you can get out quickly. Try not to let them get to ya too much. Keep your sanity. You will be out of their clutches before long

Not in a community with an HOA....that may be true in a condo community, but single family homes are the owners responsibility. The HOA has rules to keep the community nice and you pay a monthly or annual fee. Some HOA's just go overboard with the control, but I guess some of the homeowners are responsibile for that since someone had to develop all the rules that were adopted.

Oh wow, I assumed it would be the same as a condo, so the buildings would be guarateed to be maintained, just like the lawns are often maintained thru the association. I suppose it could be anyway the docs were decided upon. Whew what a headache.
