Good point. Some will move out and get a reality check when that cold, wintry blast hits them full in the face and cuts through all the heavy winter clothing they can muster. But there are others who actually like that just as there are some who like lots of heat/humidity.

It varies from one person to the next, I guess.

Did this this past Oct-Feb when I went to MA for 5 months, holy cows was it cold. I was not used to it anymore since I have been here for 14 years, it was a reality slap and a half. Hate high heat, but it runs second to negative 20 wind chills....... Which I experienced shoveling my driveway.

Sounds like a plan! Excuse me while I step out to buy that lotto ticket and work on my novel...maybe we'll both be able to realize such dreams someday! Good luck to you too!

HATE Fort Myers, so I took a job in Estero, so I am now very happy I am here in FL, even with the sucky heat and humidity. Actually one of my favorite place in FL is Vero Beach. So not all of us YANKS are miserable or grumpy...... got it?
Yep, you're right. A lot of native Floridians are leaving the state for a few different reasons. Not just the yanks.

Actually, no. You know nothing & your writing style makes me think you're some snot nose kid who got on mom's computer while she wasn't looking.

If you knew even the slightest bit of history about your state, you'd know damn near every bit of it was either founded by or developed by northerners, and not that long ago either. So that means you & most people you know are actually more than likely only a generation or two away from that.

So yeah chief. Hate to burst your bubble, but there aint many true "Florida natives" even here now. Almost everyone here, even if you were technically born here, comes from somewhere else family wise. So yeah, you should care because this is your state's bread n' butter. It always has been & is just the way things are here. If it wasn't, a lot of this place would still be a swamp.

Im not trying to be a jerk, but I find the ignorance from people like you ridiculous.
