My wife and I are wanting to visit Florida just for the day to see some beach and sunshine to escape from the Midwest winter in December. My choices are Sarasota/Jacksonville/West Palm Beach/Fort. Lauderdale/Tampa/and possibly Orlando.

My question is, out of those cities, are there any that provide very easy access to the beaches via public transportation? Trying to keep this trip as low cost as possible and remember it’s just for the day and hop on a plane to come back home (I get free flights).

Not looking for a party town or anything like that, just a quiet get-away to grab some lunch/dinner and enjoy some sights/beach.

Thanks for your help, If there are any other cities that come to your that fit this criteria please let me know.

Thanks,

Orlando and points northward can be relatively cool during December, so I'd only go to those places if you can be flexible enough to let a cold front finish moving through and for temperatures to get into the mid-high 70s again. Would also rule our Orlando because if the travel time to the Cocoa Beach area.

I'd probably go with Ft. Lauderdale.
